I tell my couples at the engagement shoot that the time will fly by and their wedding will be here before you know it. I think I need to start telling myself that because the time flew by! Larua wore a gorgeous blush wedding dress that went great with Matt's blue tux. It literally snowed all day so when we got to their reception I just had to take a few photos in the snow! They were great sports and waded ankle deep in snow to get a few photos. Not a big deal for this bride since she brought her rubber boots! Later it stopped snowing but we went out for some twilight photos anyway and I'm glad we did! Congratulations you two!
Nicole and Mark started their day at The Cyrus Place downtown Indianapolis which I think has one of the nicest getting ready rooms. After a first look some wedding pictures they were married at Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood by an pastor who's been around a while and was quite entertaining! I laughed out loud several times during their ceremony along with everyone else! During their reception at Jones Crossing the song YMCA came on and a bunch of hats came out. As you probably know this song is by the village people who wear random hats so it was quite appropriate! Congratulations you two, it was a fun day and I wish you the best of luck in your new life together!
I couldn't have asked for a better day for a wedding. The sky cleared up, the wind died down and Jennifer and Max got married! After a ceremony at a local church they headed downtown to the skyline club where their DJ Mark from Grapevine helped them dance the night away on top of the world! Congratulations you two, you're perfect for each other!
After shooting Samantha and Michael engagement shoot I knew their wedding day was going to but fun and I wasn't disappointed! Michael's friends performed the ceremony which was also fun to watch since they knew him better than most. I also saw a couple who's wedding I shot in 2014 at St. John's, they now have 2 little ones running around which was super fun to watch! Their reception was held at McGowan Hall. We walked up the steps and I got excited about the two light globes out front until I found out they don't actually turn on at the moment! So I had to improvise and put two of the lights directly behind the globes so it looks like they were on! You do what you have to do to get the shot! Congratulations Samantha and Michael! Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys on your wedding day.
I look back on 2017 and I see some amazing weddings. I see sunsets and twilights, golden and blue hour photos. I see a lot of imagery each one telling a unique story. Here's a couple of photos that stood out.
Winter weddings are some of my favorite weddings. As long as their's snow on the ground and in Indiana we don't take that for granted. Sarah and Krist's wedding day just happened to fall on the day we had a first snow which laid a fresh bit of snow on the ground earlier in the day and then started back up again right as they said their vows. After the ceremony we went out into the fresh falling snow and took some amazing snow pictures! So excited for these two, may you have a long and happy life together!
Allison & Ryan Night Downtown Indianapolis Engagement Pictures
Even though it was a little cold Allison and Ryan were troopers! I love being able to offer unique pictures for my couples and a night time engagement shoot is definitely unique! After the shoot we went to a local haunt and had a later dinner. Can't wait to shoot Allison and Ryan's wedding!
I absolutely loved shooting Ashley and Nick's wedding this weekend at the Biltwell. The Biltwell is a relatively new venue with a mature staff that did an amazing job handling the details of Ashley and Nick's wedding. There is a walk in safe in the brides getting ready room so of course we had to take pictures in it. Ashley and Nick were married on the top floor with a great view of downtown and later for the fading sunset. During cocktail hour we finished up pictures and then stuck outside for an amazing sunset shoot just outside the loading docks. Ashley was amazing and hopping up on a pile of lumber so we could get a better angle on the sunset and venue. As a dad to two little girls the father daughter dance always gets me and this one got me good. Congratulations you two, I wish you the very best together!
Kasey and Noah go really well together and I had a lot of fun hanging out with them on their wedding day. The Barn is Zionsville was done up right with flowers making an already picturesse venue even more beautiful! Kasey and Noah had their first look which calmed their nerves and ensured they spend the majority of the day together. I never get tired of watching couples see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Congratulations you two on your new lives as a married couple!
